About us
Why We Began
“It is undeniable there is an increasing number of orphans and vulnerable children in our country today. Haven of living Hope was started based on a strong Christian foundation to change and transform lives of vulnerable and orphaned children by giving them Hope, Care, Love, Peace and Self-awareness.
Founder - Anne Luvaha
Our focus has been on the boy child because we discovered that most vulnerable kids are brought up by either a mother, grandmother or auntie, without a father figure. We felt that this created a vacuum, especially affecting the boy child. I also discovered girls in our country have recently become more empowered than boys, and so our prayer is to see the boy-child becoming the responsible men that God created them to be. We want to see our boy child becoming fearless influencers in society.
Therefore, together with my few friends we embarked on this journey, and with that mission in mind. We aim to positively impact the boy child in every aspect, and therefore we would be grateful to walk with you in this journey.
Thank you to everyone who is planning to walk this journey with us.
We count it an honor to serve the next generation with you.
God bless you.“
Our approach
our mission
Our Mission is to provide child-centered care focused on fostering children’s creativity in a natural and inclusive environment.
Our Vision
At Haven of Living Hope, our vision extends beyond nurturing children; we aspire to integrate them seamlessly into the fabric of national development. We achieve this by not only providing essential care but also imparting valuable skills to their guardians in farming and business. This dual approach equips families with the means to confidently care for their children, fostering self-sustainability.
The Boy Child – What is the issue?
According to the Boy Child Initiative, there has been a great neglect of the boy child in Kenya. We have resolved to accommodate young boys that lack the essential support due to death, neglect, and adverse poverty among other reasons.
The death of parents many times results in setbacks such as: lack of love, absence of security, family disputes, unruly behavior and unwanted pregnancies.
Most of these boys are either orphaned or from poor single parent homes and lack appropriate care and support. As a result, they produce dysfunctional homes or become involved in vices. They end up living in abject poverty.
How do we solve this problem?
Our goal is to address the issue of the boy child by providing educational, psychological, physical and spiritual needs in an atmosphere grounded on the word of God.
We also endeavor to empower not only the boy child but also their families. For instance, we are striving to provide community-based programs that educate these families to become independent and have sustainable sources of income.
We identify these children through the help of school administrators who are well aware of their students’ plight. We provide boarding facilities and counseling for all our in-house children at Milimani Haven of Living Hope Children’s Home. The in-house children are enrolled at Shimo la Tewa Primary school, Milimani. The home-based children attend schools near their locality.
